I spent this weekend out in the Tillamook forest with some friends. There were about 18 of us total, all in a little hunters cabin. Me and Jess went on a mushroom walk up in the mountains Saturday morning. We bushwacked through mixed coniferous and evergreen, some clearcuts, and here and there wonderful and dream like old growth. The tiny jelly mushrooms Jess found under an old doug fir. We baked them in a sugar, sauvignon blanc and water syrup at 250˚ for about 60 minutes. The results were little candied mushrooms resembling jelly bears.
